Employees from local law firm Mills Selig took part in both the London and Belfast marathons in the past couple of weeks in aid of our new charity for 2023, Dementia NI.
Communications and Marketing executive John Quinn joined 45,000 runners from around the world to take on the iconic London Marathon, then a week later the Mills Selig Marathon relay team tested themselves across the 26.2 miles at Belfast Marathon.

“We are thrilled to be supporting such a worthwhile cause in Dementia NI,” said Maeve Fisher, Partner within Mills Selig’s Litigation team and Head of the firm’s Charity Committee, “Our entire team is passionate about making a positive impact in the world and we are excited to use this opportunity to raise funds and awareness for such an important cause – thank you to everyone able to donate to this hugely worthwhile cause.”
Dementia NI is a local member led charity driving positive change for people living with dementia. The charity promotes the right for people living with dementia to be involved in decisions that affect their everyday lives. By raising awareness, the charity challenges the stigma of having a diagnosis and offer support to others who are in the same boat and living with the symptoms.
Dementia NI was set up by people with dementia to enable them to have their voices heard and improve services for themselves and others.
Throughout 2021/22 the team at Mills Selig successfully raised £12,000 for our previous chosen charity, Angel Wishes NI, through a variety activities and events. We are confident we can match this figure going forward with a mix of fundraising efforts planned over the coming year.
