On Friday 2nd August the team at Mills Selig pulled on their cycling shorts and completed a six-hour spin-a-thon for their charity partner, PIPS (Public Initiative for Prevention of Suicide and Self Harm) raising the valuable sum of £630.
Mills Selig, known best for being one of Northern Ireland’s most innovative and progressive corporate and commercial law firms, turned out a relay team who took turns to complete their spins while colleagues collected donations from passers-by.
Stationed directly outside their City Centre office on Arthur Street, the atmosphere was vibrant as bystanders cheered messages of encouragement and support while others took the time to stop and speak with the team, learning about the services provided by the local charity.
Thanking the public for their generous donations and support, Anne Skeggs, Mills Selig Property Director said,
“For everyone who donated, supported us and cheered us on, thank you. Choosing PIPS as our charity for 2019 was an easy decision for Mills Selig. In the spirit of our own values; exceptional, supportive, positive and teamwork, we wanted to help PIPS in their mission to support anyone who is considering, or at some point considered, ending their own life.”
PIPS also provide support to those families and friends who have been touched by suicide. The charity endeavours to raise awareness of the signs of suicide by promoting self-help and drive the need for immediate and effective services at the point of crisis.
