One of Northern Ireland’s leading commercial law firms, Mills Selig supported a call for business leaders to positively change their future by ‘believing in the impossible and thinkingaw differently’. The shift in thinking paradigm was delivered by international TedX speaker, innovator and change agent, Marcus Orlovsky and guest speaker at the law firm’s event in Belfast to unveil their new brand. The ‘Dare to Dream’ event hosted in Ten Square (Tuesday 1st March) was attended by many of the firm’s impressive client list. Marcus challenged guests to push beyond their comfort zones to unlock innovation, growth and leadership across their business models. His fresh thinking was backed by a huge evidence base of where he and others have done things differently and with outstanding results and benefits. Speaking at the event he said, “Most of the work I have done to date has been deemed 'impossible' beforehand. Now, it tends to be referred to as 'rather obvious'! As leaders you have to embrace a culture of dreaming big with purpose and passion in order to create positive change.” Marcus is founder of Bryanston Square where he and his team work throughout the UK and around the world creating great spaces at lower than expected costs and helping schools and universities generate revenues. Generous with his stories and experiences he shared how, after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant he found himself in a small organisation which, with a handful of people, floated on the USM and went on to borrow some £3Bn to transform and regenerate Broadgate, Ludgate and Stockley Park in London. He also shared how after suffering a major stroke he was back on the international speaking circuit within weeks following a transformational journey of recovery from loss of ability to read, understand colour and generally being unable to communicate. Delighted to be hosting the event, Mills Selig, Managing Director, John Kearns presented the bold new look for the firm’s brand and their continued commitment to value, understanding and expertise. “Our brand is built on two guiding principles - Understanding. Expertise. Two simple words but we believe that when you have both, you can be truly effective.
